Trying to get the ball rolling

I had made a plan last week for mr process booklet and over the weekend I spent my time working on my research chapter. I have taken inspiration form the Almanac and MAMA map projects as I think their ratio of images and text is appropriate and I like little details that are included in these examples, e.g. the highlighted insights in the Almanac book.
Today I was ready to start the week jumping straight into making my product head first however my morning did not go to plan. The CNC milling machine that I will be using to mill my handle for the knife is yet again unavailable. Although this is an inconvenience as I was scheduled in to be using it I took the opportunity to further perfect the model. I tweaked the slot where the knife blade comes out in order to better follow the taper of the blade, I also slightly changed the shape of the soft section on the underside of the handle. Seen as it was unlikely that I would be able to use the machine until Wednesday I decided to 3d print this model again to physically see the small adjustments I have made.
I also spent sometime in the workshop perfecting my mould for the silicone. This took several attempts as I want the silicone boarder to fit as snug as possible on the board and therefor I have selected a much thinner plastic so that the gap between the silicone and the board is as minimal as possible for hygiene reasons. I have stuck this into a piece of wood with more silicone as to fill the small open margin.
