Having made the design decision to make the chopping board lay over the sink I have been working on a mechanism that allows the chopping board to universally fit different sink sizes.

I have taken apart a clamp so that it works in the opposite direction. This mechanism will be incased in the chopping board so that is doesn't create hygiene issues. This will allow to lower extrusions on the board to press against the sides of the chopping board and lock in this position for stability.

I have also made the decision to make the board from maple wood as it has good strength properties and high abrasion resistance.
