Production of the scale kitchen has begun. With a big help from all my friends in retail, providing me with many a cardboard box, I have started developing an environment that would put an averaged sized adult in the shoes of a 5 year old.

I hope to use this set up to allow adults to explore the difficulties that a child may face if they were to prepare food in conditions that is not designed to fit their needs.

I will then discuss with the users some of the concept solutions I am developing to receive some feed back on weather or not they would find these ideas valid developments.

Allowing adults to relate to children in such a way would also allow a window for them to sympathise with children and develop a deeper understanding of the hardships that children may face in a world that is primarily designed for a fully grown adult. This experience is likely to reduce feelings of frustration and annoyance that may develop when working with children and teaching them new skills.

To be continued…
